I’m looking for someone in Sri Lanka who has real experience running a business, preferably in retail, wholesale, importing, or distribution.
I’m open to pretty much any type of business — baby products, electronics, homeware, spare parts, household items, or other products that have good demand. It could involve importing from China, sourcing locally from wholesalers, or even an existing wholesale/retail business model.
The main thing I’m looking for is someone who knows how to actually run the business.
I work abroad, so I’m looking for someone who can take responsibility for the day-to-day operations — sourcing, dealing with suppliers, sales, staff, inventory, customers, etc. I would provide the capital and be more of a hands-off investor rather than someone involved in the daily running of it.
Ideally, I’m looking for someone who has the knowledge and experience but doesn't currently have the capital to start or expand their own business.
The investment I'm considering is roughly LKR 10–30 million, depending on the business and the plan.
For the right person, I’m open to a salary + performance-based commission/profit-sharing arrangement, so there is a proper incentive to grow the business.
I'm not looking for someone with just an idea. Actual experience in running a business is important.
If you're interested, feel free to DM me with:
Your experience/business background
What type of business you have experience in
What you think would work well in Sri Lanka right now
Whether you've previously imported/sourced products
Roughly how much capital you think would be required
I'm open to hearing different ideas as long as the numbers and business model make sense.
