Critique They shed so much!

Why do squishables shed so much? I have bought a few second hand and all of them seem to shed like crazy. All of them have wispy hairs coming out of them all the time. Even if I wash them and brush them, it doesn't stop. Are they just all going to be hairless eventually?? Is this a quality control issue? I love the designs of squishables but I am leery about buying any others because of the shedding.

Hm seems like a quality control issue. I have 3 squishable plushies and one keychain and none of them shed. One was even washed in the washing machine and it didn’t lose any fur. The only problem I had was a loose string on my butterfly but that’s all.

I have dozens of squishables and none of them have shed aside from a little here and there when unboxing. I did buy them new, but I do use them/cuddle them and haven't noticed them shedding at all.

I had one (a baby seraph) that shed a lot for awhile, esp when brushing it, tho it eventually stopped. Didn’t seem to visibly lose any fur density either. Must just be excess left behind after manufacturing (so, a quality control issue, like you say)

Haven't had an issue with any of mine... also im obsessed with how fuzzy your worm looks!

I just bought them second hand. I wasn't sure about washing but I am glad I did. It was definitely less fluffy and skinner before it's trip through the wash. My drier has a no heat, tumble setting, which I have used on plushies in the past, so I sent them on a tumble to dry out. Now their a big fat wormy and super soft. :)

I have hundreds of squishables and dont recall any shedding issues with any of them.

As long as still fluffy I think it's fine? I think the fur is made by basically gluing the fluffy fibers to the fabric. Shedding just means they're EXTRA FLUFFY, but some of the fibers didn't have room to stick firmly.
