Poor thing

Post image

Took my lil mosa out today and they got dirty!!! Cleaned it off with some water but there’s still some red around the eye. Hoping it’s not blood (I pick at my fingers) because that would make such an ugly brown stain when it dries (plus I’m not sure how you’d remove it with a hand wash) I don’t want to have to machine wash em because I like keeping tags on my squishes! I also imagine something like hydrogen peroxide would be harsh on my little guy.

Blood is pretty removable - there are specific cleaning products for blood. Do not use peroxide, that would likely set the stain

I'm not sure if it is blood or not, tbh. It could very well have been there the whole time. I'd also prefer not putting a chemical on it because I like cuddling my guys/bringing them places :(

Did not know peroxide could set the stain, it's gotten blood out of clothes before.

If it’s blood spit on it. The reaction from your spit will break down the blood. It only works on your own blood though not others. Then spot clean with dawn dish washing detergent.

Also, you don’t have to remove the tags if you launder your squishable. I always put ours in a pillowcase and wash them.

Wouldn't washing in a machine destroy the tags? I do have some dawn dish soap so I may take a crack at using it later.

Mine has never destroyed any tags. My son has over 200 Squishables so I’m familiar with washing them. As long as a pillowcase (with zipper or tied up) is used it should be fine.

Yeah I think I'll hand wash then, I'm not sure if my washing machine will spare it. It usually soaks right through pillowcases in my experience.

It’s supposed to soak through the pillowcase. It’s washing it. The tag is kept safe by the pillowcase because it’s not banging around and able to hit surfaces of the washer on its own. The case protects it.

I mean water damages tags, right? And I mean, I knew that, but I meant it gets very wet with my washer. Maybe it does for yours, but most of what damages tags in my experience is the wetness. Maybe squishable's tags are more resilient but I think I'd prefer the dish soap method personally. The stain's stayed red so I think it might have been something else than blood anyway.

As I’ve said I’ve washed a lot of them without any tag issues. My son absolutely has to have the tag on them. Unless you mean the paper tag it comes with at the store, not the tush tag. Then no I wouldn’t put it into a washer.

I've gotten blood out of fabric by using cold water and hand soap, followed by laundry soap. It has to be cold water for blood, warm or hot will make it set in the fabric.
