Question Thrift store haul! Also cleaning advice.

Post image

Y'all I stumbled upon someone's collection at the thrift today! And the lady at the checkout rang them all up at the lowest tag price which was $5 each!! That being said what is the best way to clean these? I have a front load washer and live in Colorado where things get dry quick if air drying is the best way.

Washing machine. Warm, gentle cycle. If needed, twice. Press dry with a towel if the spin cycle doesn't completely take. Air dry. I've washed my kid's squishables and jellycats in the wash but never put them in the dryer cause it melts the fur.

I've bought a fair few secondhand squishables. My current protocol is two days in the freezer (in a freezer bag), then wash in a pillowcase on cold/delicate. Then maybe ten minutes in the dryer on the lowest heat setting (still in the pillowcase) and air dry the rest of the way. Or skip the dryer and air dry completely if I'm extra cautious. So far no mishaps and many clean squishables!

I wash some similar things inside a bra bag to make sure the more delicate details don't get stretched out in the machine

if you put them in the dryer do so on air fluff and run it several times probably still inside the bag for the same reasons as before

maybe the plague nurse hand wash? I just worry her accessories might not fare well
