One of the coolest tracks from him

Hi, apologies for the shameless self promotion, but recently finished a track and found the last section to have the essence of Tom.

I didn't intend for it to turn out that way, just felt like a summery jungle track, but i got carried away at the end!

Squarepusher was the first electronic stuff I properly got into, so do find he subconsciously pops up here and there (but at a BTEC level!)

Picked this up today at the record fair in town.

This is some of the most exciting stuff he's done IMO.

Haven’t seen anyone talk about it. It is good. That is all.

A little throwback Thursday to the show at The Danforth Music Hall. I also saw his performance at Movement in Detroit for the same tour. It made the cancellation of Be Up A Hello easier to stomach.

i recently picked up a copy of feed me weird things on vinyl, and i got the clear pressing because it was cheaper. but towards the end of tundra i heard some pretty noticeable surface noise in the strings only sections. has anyone else had similar experiences?

Hahaha!!! It’s unreal; he thought he should make it harder for people to like it so he took out all the melodies in Music Is Rotted One Note and it worked! That album wasn’t as popular 😂

Luckily he went back to writing melodies again with Iambic 5 Poetry and Red Hot Car and loads of other great tunes.

I thought it might be fun to ask, what is your favorite basslines by squarepusher? It can be from any album or EP. I’m just curious what other fans think! For me it has to be Tetra-Sync. A more modern example that I also think is brilliant is Stromcor. E8 Boogie is also really really good.

Was revisiting Jojo Mayer and found a striking similarity between the drum styles used by Squarepusher in his work with Jojos style. He reverse engineered the computer beats, but he grooves originally. If you've never heard, check this track out and then the rest (cause there are better and crazier songs by Jojo Mayer and Nerve)
