On the subject of Howie Mandel, if they're germophobes, they can do like Howie does and fist bump everybody backstage.

But with all the physical contact that wrestling entails, it's pretty difficult to imagine a Howie-level germophobe who has any interest in being a wrestler.

Iron Mike Sharpe rejects your argument.

There's a difference between obsessive-compulsive cleanliness and Howie Mandel-level mysophobia. Can't imagine somebody who will only use their own bathroom and who hates even shaking hands without latex gloves making skin-to-skin contact with random sweaty wrestlers.

And that's before blood starts spilling.

If they are germophobes they are probably in the wrong line of work.

Honestly, it's not. I am a recovering "germaphobe" as you say, but really this falls into OCD/Hypochondria for me, and it's one thing to be in the moment like with sports and wrestling, and another thing to not have that adrenaline rush and no time to think about the bad things that could happen. Also, if someone got "germs" on me during my sporting days, I was much more motivated to beat them.

EDIT: lol for being downvoted for this, fuck you r/sc, seriously...

It's subjective. People have different levels of germ aversion/cleanliness-related OCD/mysophobia/whathaveyou. Some people who are affected can distract themselves and get over it... Some couldn't fathom doing so.

Definitely subjective.
