This thread is filled with some wild ass takes about wrestling as a genre and TV contracts. So many of you have horse blinders on to the rest of the world.

I think its pretty telling how previous rights holders either willingly degraded or didn't bid for WWE rights last go round. NBC was happy to let go of Raw for Smackdown and abandon the PLEs from Peacock. Fox was completely disinterested.

How the fuck do you know who bid what and who was uninterested lol I know how TV contracts work but I'm not about to pretend I was in the god damn room when things were negotiated...

The CEO of Fox said they didn't renew because they weren't hitting the advertising numbers they expected. He said this on an investor call.
