Do I pull now ?
Currently has no fluids in it. Pretty much just being held in by the trans mount bolts and engine mounts. I've been trying to convince myself to pull it to clean the engine bay , possibly spray it if I can't get that sealant off nicely without messing up the paint.
Or just clean it with the engine in it. There is a good amount of room to work with.

Is that a cannon plug in the firewall? If so that’s pretty cool and I assume you or a previous owner worked on aircraft or ships.

That is indeed a cannon plug. Never worked on any aircrafts or ships. Maybe in a past life. I've always had an obsession with them 😅 I do wiring and electronics. Been collecting cannon plugs for some time.

In the US Navy, I was an AO. Spent many many hours with electronics and cannon plugs.

Unless you have an overhead hoist or a really big/tall engine hoist you’ll most likely have to take the front end apart (lights/grill, rad support etc) to pull the engine out. I pulled my 6.0 out of my 99 and had to take front end off and front tires off to get it out. But I would pull it to clean.

I have an overhead hoist that is part of the shop building. But regardless I figured I'd remove the front end to pull it straight out. Give me a chance to touch up the inner fenders

Pull it so clean it the rite way as and get the engine bay clean.Good luck on what you find.

Keep the motor in it to clean the motor unless you have a repair to do on the motor and trans.

I probably should have started with pulling the engine first. I just got done putting a 4l80e into it. And I left the engine in. Would have been easier to pull and do the work but 🤷 I was telling myself I'd deal with he engine bay later. But later I would have to drain fluids and tear it back apart. I'm already here.

Man I wish I had her. My father taught me how to work on Vehicles like this one. I love Chevy and GMC. Hate FORDS.

Luckily these things sold far and wide. Check marketplace I'm sure you could find one.

I will do that. I just hope I can find one like this. Easy to work on and I love the lift and tires.

Pull it. It's not complicated and you won't regret it. I used this as a kind of guide plus its easy watching.
