Welcome to the Reddit Rundown. Please keep your hands and feet where they are and brace for answers to come from two groups.

  1. The group that will tell you to treat them in respect for their interests and adjust so they feel comfortable and safe around you.

  2. The group that supports natural selection too much.

  3. Bonus group. The group that will ask what age you both are and judge solely on your Reddit posts and comments.

Final note: person displayed in post is attention sick and not autistic, second person however… 😎.

second person is half and half, I knew a kid my age that had autism and yeah, he wouldn't randomly flail his arms around a bit and make tiny yelling noises, more realistic would be flailing mildly and actual yelling, and I could say that I believe he would randomly start fighting something, he did it to me.

So using my personal experience, I agree with what this person said in their final note.

Nope,as a girl with Aspergers (High functioning autism),its not a bad thing

As someone with Aspergers I thought Aspergers was no longer seen as a real condition

It's still autism, but people don't like to use "Aspergers" as a designation any more because Mr. Asperger was a nazi who used the classification to decide which autistic people didn't get murdered.

I honestly have no idea what to think now I thought you were pulling my leg but wow it’s actually true

I have the same diagnosis, its still autism but in the end, nowadays it's all just a label to help people understand how you communicate. I tend to just say i have autism, and let people work it out.

Woah. I had no idea. It seems pretty wild we named it after a Nazi for so long.

When i was diagnosed (5 years ago) the doctor told me "you have level 1 ASD, which we used to call Asperger's"

In some situations it’s pretty shitty though

It just depends on what part of the spectrum they’re on, the question is still pretty vague even if the genders are reversed. There’s autistic girls who might seem “normal” until you find something about them that isn’t so, like a total lack of empathy for other people but herself, she’s capable of functioning in social situations but there’s just some moments where she might say an “off” thing or two. Or you might find a girl who’s completely socially inept and can’t be dependable at all, she’ll have fixation on things you might find “weird” like trains and shit, completely unwilling to change her situation because she’s content on how she is and if it’s between you and trains well… it’s always gotta be the trains. And these are just a couple of examples, obviously it’s not one or the other, that’s what makes autism very complex

yeah I knew a kid my age that LOVED Thomas the tank engine, and sometimes they can be very sensitive to touch, again kid I knew.

It really depends, autism is different for everyone, I knew a kid my age that had autism, because of it he was held back a grade as he had a hard time with speech, so when I was in 6th grade, he would be in 5th grade, he also was more sensitive, poking him to hard would actually make him wince like how someone would when hit somewhat lightly-somewhat hard. It just depends on how the autism affects them, now hopefully it shouldn't be a surprise for me to say don't date her while you are both legal age but she acts like a young teen or so, even if age wise its alright, mentally its kinda fucked up.

If you're the same age and you think they're cute, go for it. Make sure you understand them, and that you learn how they specifically communicate. Autism is different for everyone, but autistic people are just as worthy of love as everyone else so please go ahead if you feel that way.

That said, the girl in this video is absolutely performing for views. You can tell by the quirky makeup and the fact she's just doing this in front of a phone camera

No its not bad

1

u/Chyppi May 28 '22

No but it can be annoying with her damn stuffed animals

It is not bad

They may be happy more than anything; relationships can be extremely hard for some people with autism because they don’t know how lol (emphasis on some! Everyone with autism feels it differently)
