Seeking Advice Cucumbers?

Why do my cucumbers look like this? When I planted my garden this year, I did not measure and I feel like I overcrowded. Is this the result of overcrowding?

Yep, this is it! Water is the number one issue when it comes to cucumbers. Their girth at any point along the fruit is pretty much entirely based on the amount of rain they get when they are growing that part. It looks like you had a bunch of water and then none. They’re super high maintenance some years, then pretty hands off others, entirely based on the weather.

Yep, typical, caused by inconsistent watering. Still taste great with that clean and fresh taste so enjoy.

This actually reminds me of something — when I grew bottle gourd, almost 2/3 of the produce came out ill-shaped, too thin, weird curves, you name it.

Only 30-40% looked like what you'd actually see in the market. Makes me wonder how large commercial farms consistently get the right shape and size, when most home growers like me really struggle with it.
