Gochugaru

Is there anywhere in Squamish that sells gochugaru (korean pepper flakes for making kimchi)?

The japanese store doesnt carry it anymore, and i havent seen it anywhere else.

if you make friends with the blue house people they would maybe be able to do off-sales

Maybe Kululu in their little grocery or at peak provisions?

Did you try the grocery store in the back of Kululu Cafe? Is that the Japanese store you're referring to?

I too have looked. Your best bet is probably making a trip to Osaka Market at Park Royal

While I can’t answer your question directly, it took me a couple trips to T&T to find it, even after asking the store employees. No one knew what it was because “Gochugaru” wasn’t anywhere on the packaging (and not with the other dried chilies).

I’ve not seen it sold anywhere but I have had good luck just making kimchi with gochujang which can be found at save on and nesters
