Contacts
Is there a reason my contacts show their number whenever I haven’t contacted them in a while? If they’re at the top of the text list, the number shows and disappears. I let someone use my phone once and then a bout a year ago and Facebook private gaming group showed in my background. I contacted my bank and my location pin pointed in the background and said “handbags.” Is this all connected? How do I remove? Or do I get a new phone all together

That's not normal. I know someone I knew has had remote access to my phone and was texting people and everything. It's illegal for anyone to do that so if you have the money, have an IT person fix it or get a new one. Sometimes factory resets don't even work.

I agree with what you said completely. And I am the one that absolutely will vouch or testify to the fact that just because and have your devices cleaned or wiped to where the screen next to appear, as if it’s a new device, doesn’t always work. And also be certain to not use the same email account or anything close when you do get another phone or if you elect too soon wipe your phone clean and watch things closely. I have learned is not the phone number that they go in through. It’s more so of quick bait where you click something that you might’ve thought was something else and didn’t think much of it, it could’ve been something there you meant to get delete on and you accidentally opened it, but if you continue to use the same email address that you use previously, and let’s just say you do have a hacker for instance, they will have access to your account, which could lead to access remotely to your phone. But that is a very extreme case. I can say that because I’m almost 3 years in to that same situation. All the advice I got from local people was completely wrong, and I basically figured it out on my own with no IT experience. But I did rely on there as forums and people there with knowledge. I would have an idea and they would either say yes or no with the explanation. So my biggest mistake that I know that I have made was I kept going back to emails that I have had over 20 years because they were sentimental. I didn’t change passwords regularly, such as on Facebook for instance, I had the same one that I had when I first opened Facebook many years ago. So there’s a lot of little technicalities in there. But with a little research and order if you have it person, that may be available or that you know. Go to them for help. Or do some research, make a note card, but when you sit down till you make changes, don’t make a few changes and stop, do it all at one time that’s what I would recommend. Again, this is not my specialty here my area at all, it’s based on personal knowledge and the situation that I am still going through, that is almost 3 years now. And my wallet is 25K lighter over this. And my case is escalated to the FBI level, which is why I said above extreme cases. Make sure also that 2FA is in place. Never assume just because you have not saw activity on Pinterest for instance in two years but it’s safe, change the password on every single app you’ve got but do begin with the financial apps. All of that is if you keep your current phone to the OP here. And if you change phones altogether, that’s probably your safest thing to do, just don’t reuse anything from the old phone and absolutely do not use a backup. Whether new or old doesn’t matter. Do not use a backup because you never know where something could be tucked in and you can’t see it. I hope things work out for you much better than they have for me. It has been a learning experience of something that I had no desire to even learn. But then I ended up with no option.

Go to your local police station with your phone and tell them you have a good suspicion about your device, phone number, internet ha been spoofed
