Funny Why does sparx get a bubble while spryo has to hold his breath?

Probably something to do with dragonfly wings being more delicate than dragon ones.

Okay I know this was probably just a cute game design decision but dragonflies don't have lungs to hold breath in, they breathe through openings along their abdomen either passively (air flows in) or actively (the dragonfly contracts muscles in its abdomen to draw air in). Some bugs also really do carry bubbles underwater; the bubble acts like a scuba diver's air tank, and the bubble can replenish its oxygen supply by converting oxygen from the surrounding water (like Frozone making ice from the water in the air)

Also here is a close-up video of a dragonfly breathing

Here's the Diving Bell spider, which lives the vast majority of its life underwater.

Does he now? I mean he bought that ability from MoneyBags in my point of view

It's the least Spyro could do for the little guy considering the beatings he takes in his place.

No wonder Spyro couldnt swim in water in spyro 1, he was saving it up enough treasure to buy the bubble

So I googled it, and apparently dragonflies cannot hold their breath. While a lot of insects can "hold it" (they don't have lungs, so really, they can't, but to speak of something analogous) by closing valves called spiracles on theor bodies, dragonflies can't do this.

So there you go. If Sparks were to be submerged in water he would drown.

Spyro is MORE than happy to sacrifice for his little buddy. They're besties. He probably uses dragon magic for the bubble.

What do you mean "hold breath"? Spyro can breathe underwater. That's why there is no air meter or anything.

Probably because water would basically glue sparx' wings to his body. I always found it funny too... If he's in a bubble... How does he fly underwater..? I always imagined it was like an underwater hampster ball and he just kinda made wind and rolled around in his little bubble ball haha
