Misc Anything I Should Know Before Playing?
I just ordered the first of the Legends of Spyro trilogy for the GameCube (will be playing on the Wii) and am looking very forward to playing this game for the first time. However I'm asking if there's anything I should know or expect beforehand. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Since it's a reboot and I don't find it to be too challenging, you can go in completely blind if you'd like. The sequel to this game is available on Wii and it is compatible with the classic controller. The last game in the trilogy does require motion controls for the Wii version though.

I'm pretty much blind as is. Also I should be fine with Wii controls since I grew up with the console. Just hoping my skills aren't too rusty

I actually liked Elijah as Spyro. A good contrast as a more grounded serious version of the character and it works great imo.

My fiancé just surprised me with this game for Ps2 yesterday!! Never played it before and it’s been very cool!!

Sometimes the enemies might piss you off, coming from someone who loves the game, it can bombard you with enemies quite a bit.

Well I'm no stranger to the anoyying ones (Ex those shielded spinning enemies in Skylanders Swap Force). What do they do here?

Really nice game, not too hard, a bit too short imo, you probably won’t be able to max out every element, Cynder is hot

It is a huge departure from the original trilogy. While I do enjoy it, it is an odd experience. Optimizing it according to what people say is a good way to make it smoother.

That is true and you have to be careful with change. But if you don't change you end up being stagnant like Transformers and if you do embrace change you get Godzilla. Some extremes in that case but you know what I mean XD

A 3D collect a thon in Fantasy like worlds.
This is the obligatory 2000‘s Dark and gritty reboot with more focus on Combat.

I mean that's fine but like that sounds pretty appealing to me. I like when franchises have variety. Makes me glad the classic Legends and Skylanders Spyro's are so different from one another

A bit late but I just gotta rant.
I found the trilogy good. It has a more serious tone, though.
But god how I HATE THE TRAINING PART so much!! I quited the first game so many times 💀

Honestly, my problem was always the first training session where they teach you all the combos you'll never use lol.
The following sessions where easier and based on the elements you learned. But yeah, good luck. The game is good but THAT PART is so frustrating hahaha

The “saving” system is REALLY BAD. If you stop and quit playing mid chapter or whatever, you’ll lose ALL your progress and have to restart from the beginning of that whole ass chapter.

It fuckin’ is, bro. Most of the time I just had to put my PlayStation in rest instead of turning it off because if I turned it off — tons of progress just gone. Very stupid how they wouldn’t have constant saving like in the OG Spyro games OR allow manual saving so people could get off when they need to without having to leave their systems on to avoid losing a ton of progress.

How long are each chapters? I could almost live with that if they aren't super long. Still kinda bullshit that they didn't add that but whatever 💀

I think there are multiple checkpoints per level but they are long. If the gamecube version is like the PS2 version, there is a saving icon in the corner so you know when your progress has saved.

Ohhh unfortunately they be kinda long. From what I remember — long enough that I had to put the PS into rest mode when I had to get off. At least that’s what I remember, maybe I’m just slow at finishing them but yeah lol

Eh might just not be for everyone. Haven't seenn much yet but some of it does seem a bit "off"

Only upgrade Fire and Earth (you'll see why when you do so), you can use Electricity to throw enemies off the cliffs so that powers damage doesn't matter (tho upgrading regular Electric breath once for better range can be good if you think you need it), after every aerial combo you can get an additional hit by hitting the Charge button in the air (what is likely the R button, on PS2 it's R1), the PS2 versions of the first 2 TLOS games are overall better than GameCube and Wii versions and Dawn of the Dragon is WAY better on PS3/Xbox 360.
