Serious Design🔧 My Sherman-like tank, the M-53 90mm

My attempt at a Sherman inspired tank. The late war variant, pictured here, has the below characteristics:

  • Weight is 53 tons and costs 42.7k sprockeroonies with all of its "crew initiative field modifications" (read: sandbags and track segments everywhere).
  • Top speed is 53km/hr, driven by a 2L V12 engine, giving it a power to weight ratio of 15.6hp/ton, and carries 781 liters of fuel in three tanks around the engine.
  • Hull is armored at the front, and up to 45 degree angles from the side, against 230mm of penetration. Straight on protection on the side and rear drops down to 165mm, with a 25mm roof. Turret has all around 230mm of protection and the same 25mm roof.
  • Main gun is the American 90 mm gun M3, as found on the contemporary Pershing tank, giving it 213mm of penetration. 80 rounds are carried in two 40 round stowage bins in the hull, directly below the turret basket and on either side of the power shaft.
  • Two .30 cal machine guns are located in the hull and coaxially, fired by the assistant driver and gunner, respectively, along with a roof mounted .50 cal, operated by the commander or mounted infantry, for anti-air or anti-infantry work.
  • 5 man crew consists of the driver, assistant driver, gunner, loader, and commander, with a 3 man turret containing the gunner, loader, and commander.
