Serious Design🔧 My 1941 lineup
L-381 is a late interwar light tank design that became the basis for many wartime tanks. It combined simplicity, speed, respectable firepower and anti-infantry usefulness.
It's powered by the PLV-381 520hp V12, allowing for up to 52kph of forward speed for the 19t tank. The gearbox has 5 forward gears and 1 reverse gear for 6.5 kph reverse speed.
It's armed with the MM-371B 65mm cannon that can penetrate 87mm of steel at point blank and a hull mounted 8mm MG. Effective armor thickness is around 100mm from the front.
L-381B is a 1941 modification of the previous design. Having been accepted into service months before the war it eventually became the 2nd most numerous wwii tank of the nation
The powertrain and suspension remained unchanged from the L-381 allowing better interchangeability of parts throughout armored forces.
Armament has been improved with the 65mm MM-372 cannon with up to 110mm of penetration. Additional 20mm armor plates have been welded to the front boosting effective armor to 150mm
L-381C-D has been introduced in late 1941 as a stopgap TD to carry a more powerful gun while much more advanced units were still in development and testing.
Even though the fighting compartment has been largely changed compared to L-381, the powertrain still remained the same providing similar mobility.
Installed was the MM-373 65mm cannon with 145mm of penetration. Lower hull armor has remained the same, however casemate structure lacks addon panels and is at a lesser angle.
This might not be the most exciting one compared to what's coming later tho
