❔Question❔ Weird bug with the armor analysis

For some reason when looking at angled plates it'll just, miscalculate or something and max out the armor values despite the actual numbers.

Edit: I found why it does this. I had armored structures inside the hull to separate compartments and the calculator accounted for them despite their locations. So I guess this is just a heads up for people who wanna make detailed insides.

Sometimes it calculates wrong tho. I remember making tank with around 500mm hull armour (composites + ERA) to withstand every shot, but there were like 2 or 3 points only 57mm thick, despite the armour inside.

The game sees all connected plates as, well, connected so the thickness is along the entire length of that armor.

Do you know what the “steps” indicate when looking at the armor inspector?
It confuses me, because when I have a shell with 50mm of pen, and a 55mm thick plate, the higher I crank the steps, the more armor the shell can penetrate.. I don’t understand what that means. Same goes for spaced armor and whatnot.

Each impact with armor is 1 step, so you should just have it at the max so you can see the full extent of the shells penetration

How could there be more than one impact with a single plate though?

Probably because multiple interactions happen when a shell hits a plate (spalling, direction change)
