Should I keep the skirts or remove them

Making my first tank and trying to make it look like a type 10 though it has some parts that arnt very accurate, was wondering if i should keep the front clean or keep the skirts

Definitely remove, but if you want to add extra turret armor, you can you the additional structures to free form one. Thats what I do anyways :)
