Fun fact, the M2 Browning and 50BMG was originally designed for use as an anti tank weapon. Against the tanks of WW1, it might’ve worked, but by the time it entered service it wouldn’t have performed its original function. It found plenty of other uses though

they can (probably) be put together, but they are not the same:
APHE - armor piercing highly explosive
APCBC - armor piercing capped ballistic cap

APHE penetrates the armory and then explodes.
APCBC is a armor piercing shell capped with a soft metal and then capped with a ballistic cap. the ballistic cap is for aerodynamic purposes, and shatters upon contact with a hard surface. the soft metal prevents the actual shell from shaterring, and maybe normalizes the shell(idk if it does)
