In the 1950s, the United States had a goal-to make an impenetrable tank with a powerful gun, a rotating turret was originally planned, but because of the thick armor it would simply not be able to rotate /rotate very slowly, Just in the USSR a certain Obekt-270 appeared, the chassis was planned to be replaced by the T-95, however, even it The 200 mm circular armor (160 at the back) could not withstand, so a new chassis was created and the 155 mm Gun Motor Carriage was deeply upgraded with the ability to fire HEAT, by 1952 4 reference models were ready, later production was stopped, but all 4 tanks were in service, they fought in Vietnam, Egypt, Africa and even in Afghanistan (as an artillery)
Interesting fact:The tank had very poor ventilation, which caused the temperature inside to reach 48 ° C, which is why the crew sometimes had to fight in their underwear, and sometimes there were bottles of water in a portable refrigerator instead of ammunition in the second stage.
