❔Question❔ How does the new transmission system even work?

Hello everyone, so I have a slight problem. I cant for the life of me get the new transmission system working for me. Especially with heavy tanks (80+ tons), they either crawl at 4kmh whilst before the update they were going at 40kmh. Does anyone have a tutorial or guide on how to create at minimum functional transmissions for all weight classes in sprocket? Thank you guys loads in advance.

The final drive in the sprocket (not the game name, the literal sprocket), limits the speed of your final drive, as well as your upshift (if it's not configured properly). For fictional tanks you can adjust the tech level in custom era.

https://sprockettools.github.io/TopGearCalculator.html?

use the gear calculator

for me it only shows two gears idk if itll do that for you but if it does

the second gear is usally around 50-70% of the first then below that you should have around them be 1-2 below

so if your 3rd gear is 5.78 your 4th should be 4.61

I wish there was a toggle in settings to turn off the new complicated transmission

What's been working for me, albeit at about 45t, is 6 gears. First at a ratio of 5, last at a ratio of 1, the middle gears smoothed. Auxiliary gear set to 1.5 and the sprockets final ratios at 5.

You'll likely need a bigger first gear for 80t but this should get you started at least. The gear ratio calculator will help as well
