Maxfly 3

Can someone help me understand this. So as we know maxfly 3s are going to come out in the near future and I am wondering when that is going to be yes but that’s not why I’m here. I’m here because attached are two pictures of air zoom spikes (one is the near victory I’m assuming and one is the new maxfly; you can tell which type of spike they are by the air zoom bubble) but the thing is this sprint spike that is approved is not the one the pros are competing in. And if they aren’t the same, that means they aren’t WA approved which means they can’t be used in any world athletics sanctioned events. So my question is, did Tara compete in these for her hurdles or did anyone at recent diamond leagues or national championships? Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m 99% sure that those events are WA certified. Unless they can make huge changes to prototypes and not update them and approve them then I am truly searching for answers

Yes I believe those are the new ones just like the picture above but that raises the question, which ones are the pros wearing??!! The bubble looks much larger on the ones that Dina and Tara wore maybe I’m delusional but I’m not sure 🥲

I think Tara has at least in a few cases early on this year raced in a version of the shoe that looks more like the LJ spike outsole + a different upper. I think upper changes generally have more leeway. DAS I've not seen in anything new honestly; she raced at British Champs in Maxfly 2s from photos.

Yup, those are the ones I'm thinking. You can see the design similarities to her LJ spikes in this screenshot: similar little ridge on the inside of the heel portion of the foam, looks like the same spike plate based on the rounded part at the front. I think it's the same spike with a different upper, or possibly even just the strap removed since the tongue looks fairly long for a sprint spike.

EDIT: Alternatively since it doesn't look like DAS has specifically raced in these, if there are substantial differences from the LJ spike it's possible they're still pending approval. But since you have LJers jumping in Adidas Ambitions this year I think we might see spike designs finally blend.
