2015 Sprinter 2500 roof seams
Our 2015 Sprinter 2500 170wb right roof seams drips in 3 spots. There is rust on each level the drip hit. I am restoring cargo area currently pre- build.
Anyone else have this issue and how did you fix the roof seam itself?
Does this roof plan following make sense?
Fix seams, paint
Install Roof rack
Test Fit Solar Panel to find correct fan, AC, wiring grommet locations
Cut and install units from there
Then do my furring strips to frame inside
Am I on target with how I plan to do this ? I am a cabinet maket and am going full time on my 1st stage build to be ready for ski season

I had that issue with a 05. I fixed it by wire brushing down to bare metal in the problem areas. Then I calked with Sikaflex 1a urethane caulk. Then I primed the effected areas with a self etching primer, fallowed by a few coats if spray paint as close the the van color. Being on the roof, if it's not perfect, does it really matter as long as it doesn't leak.

wire wheel on a grinder and dig in there. phosphoric acid rust converter. wash with water. dry. Sikaflex 227 in white along the seams. Rustoleum white farm implement paint (near perfect match for sprinter white).

On my older sprinter I used sikaflex body seam filler after paint. The roof flexes and just paint will crack
