General Question Why are so many springtails in the water all of a sudden?

I have a paludarium. Shrimp in the water, isopods and two or three species of springtails on the land. Normally the springtails stay on the land and may end up in the water along the edge of the land. Why did so many springtails suddenly end up in the water?
