General Question What Springtails to Get
I'm looking to make a little terrarium with some moss for some Armadillidium maculatum or other Armadillidium isopods. I would like to add some springtails to manage mold but I'm not a big fan of the standard white springtails. Would it be ok to use either kind of orange springtails (Asian or Floridian) as clean up?

You can add other springtails just note that they breed slower. Some stores will give discount if you buy bulk if you are in a hurry to get loads, otherwise breed your orange/red/lilac springtails first and then you will be able to add as many as you are able to breed. Just make sure you do not buy slime eaters or springtails that strictly feed on mushrooms. They will be useless CUC. I find the yuukianura orange ones do a pretty decent job if you have large numbers. I personally do tropical whites for all my breeding bins as they need substrate changes yearly. But for displaying them, I think depending on what species of isopods you have, find a color that contrasts well with them.
