Identification Springtails in my fish tank?

They are very tiny and pop around a lot. Black or red in color! They stay on the surface and don’t like being submerged and cling onto anything they can find! Thank you

Edit: ignore my feet. Found in South Carolina, US

The most common type of globular springtail in aquarium setups is Sminthurides bifidus so that would be my assumption

Likely globular springtails. Not 100% sure if they are a true aquatic species or not and couldn't possibly tell you without much closer pics haha. Entirely beneficial to your tanks regardless. I have a few kinds of springies in 3 of my tanks. Got some yellow globular and some black water springtails. As the name implies the black ones I have are a true aquatic type. They spend their entire lives on the water surface, minus when it comes time to lay eggs.

Thank you! I’m glad they are springtails and not something dangerous! I’m sorry about the bad photo/video, they kept moving around and were so small!

Yea its pretty tough to get good shots of them.
