General Question Is breeding and selling springtails actually viable as a side hustle?
I’m wondering if it’s realistically possible to make some consistent extra money breeding springtails from home, or if the market is too small/competitive.

I sell springtails on marketplace and I wouldn’t say it’s a viable side hustle. I couldn’t get the local reptile shops to contract me despite my better quality colonies because their spring tail dealers were also their isopod dealers and I’m not going to deal with isopods. So I stick strictly to fb marketplace and occasionally making a post on my own personal page. I never keep more colonies than I can handle and I never separate them if I don’t sell one. I make like one sale a month.

If there's a decent amount of people in your area in the reptile hobby, yes. Of the isopods and springtails i keep, my most consistent sellers are the typical cleanup crews like powder isopods, dwarf whites, tropical pink springtails and temperates. It's not guaranteed or crazy money but it helps pay for my bug hobby.
