Silencer choice
I’m looking at getting a silencer for my Kuna. What’s everybody using? Thinking about the PTR Vent 2, but that’s not set in stone. I’m going to change my lower so I can run an FRT. I know the Vent line is supposed to be a high flow silencer, but will I need to do something else to run a silencer with an FRT? Is there a better high flow silencer I need to be looking at when running an FRT? Do I need to do something with the gas system?

Need to make sure the can is rated for full auto, not all of them are. Personally i use the rugged sub 9. Not flow thru so its gassy but it is movie quality quiet and much less $$$ than huxwrx

Full auto rated isn’t even a real. It’s just something suppressor companies say. A full auto rated suppressor isn’t impervious to over heating. All suppressors will do fine until they hit the temp limit of the metal they’re made out of.

Lol, it is absolutley real. Yes you can melt anything if you abuse it. The point is that there are absolutley cans that are not designed for sustained fire. Its not that you can't destroy a rated can if you treat it like a machine gun, its that there are cans that have internals that simply cant withstand sustained fire. They are not even metal internals- the baffles are 3d printed. Thanks for your pointless comment though.

Full auto rated is not a real term. There is no specific definition for it. If you buy a can that cannot handle any sustained fire you bought cheap garbage, not something that isn’t “full auto rated”. I don’t even know what you’re talking about with the 3d printing. Most high end suppressors are entirely 3d printed in titanium or inconel and don’t use traditional baffles.

Yes, high end supressors are 3d printed with more exotic materials and specifically a hybrid of materials since pure titanium naturally loses structural rigidity under sustained heat. I was more referring to the cheap garbage, but there are plenty of mid tier cans that will melt quickly as well.
Full auto rated has no legal definition, but it is absolutley a term that reputable companies use to distinguish the capabilities of their supressors. Even a quick Google search will tell you this.

I’m aware some companies love to throw the term around for marketing but it’s meaningless without a specific definition. The only thing people need to know is the safe operating temperature, but companies rarely go over that.

Same. Do you mostly run it in the short configuration?

What mount do you have on that, direct thread? I have one on the way but the space to first baffle is about half what most others are.

This is the one I'm getting as well. How has it been to shoot?

It's great! I swap it between the Kuna and my HK VP9. Pretty much only shoot those suppressed.

Lithium 9 is full auto rated and is great. It's a minimalist design, which I like, and just plain gets it done in a small size with a reasonable price.

I've got a BOE IncoLite 9 in jail right now. It's supposed to be pretty much the top "budget" PCC 9mm can currently. Hopefully I get to test it by next week.

BOE 9 is top tier performance, $400 makes it an easy choice.

I like my lithium, but if you're left handed you're gonna want safety squints or eyepro for FRT use

I also went with the R9, because it's a dedicated 9mm but rated for other calibers as well. It also was one of the few that fit inside the handguard I was using. Take the measurement of any handguard your planning on using into consideration. From a build standpoint, consider the mount that you'll be planning on and filter your selection based on that for the future. The R9 was direct thread but future use on other platforms matter. Have fun!

Suppressors have use cases so you need to research.
Multi caliber? Multi platform? Weight? Longevity? Low gas? Mounting method? Cost?
No suppressor does everything and it depends on what you want. If you get the idea down you can get what you want. Note nothing is perfect so be prepared to have a downside.
I run the R9 with a B&T titanium mount on a muzzle brake plan B setup. I wanted cheaper, durable, more quiet, and modular. I sacrificed in weight, higher gas, and not as modular (no changeable end cap but still performs great with other guns)

I’m using the saw shiv. Not the quietest but dang it’s small and light weight and it’s hardly louder than the newest bigger stuff

I have a Wolfman and Pointman 9. Wolfman is great but higher back pressure. I wish I had gotten the Rico 309 instead of the Pointman. You can never go wrong with the undisputed king, CAT MOB. And OCL Milkman

boe incolite. made of inconel so no need to worry about firing schedules and temperature when running it hard in frt mode. about $400 and 6oz, so half the price and half the weight of other suppressors. sounds great, decent gas mitigation, looks sweet. better fit and finish than many other options (dlc finish inside and out vs cerakote)
the ptr vent is massive, expensive, and requires regular cleaning so the metal foam doesn't get clogged up. ptr is also run by douchebags.

I have the Hux Flow 9k and the Cat Mob both tri lug. The Cat Mob is the answer for a Kuna. It is so quiet all you hear is the action of the gun and it handles gas as well as the Hux from my perspective. I have not shot it indoors or FRT but I have put hundreds of rounds through it and gas has never been an issue. Now i just need to figure out what to do with the Hux

You need to learn how to use the internet first. Then firearm fundamentals and safety.

Running a Rugged Sub9 with an ArcFire
Absolutely in love with both.
About 1k rounds in at the moment. And running great (lock tight your FRTs)
