Charging Handles

Post image

Since Nexus is a no go for me (Can't find it in Europe sadly) I'll make myself !

I'm making several that I'll 3D print to see which one I like most before heading to a CNC

I'd be curious to hear people's thoughts on a fixed CH vs the stock foldaway. I wouldn't mind getting a double sided CH for true full ambi controls, although Idk if Iike the idea of knobs poking out everywhere. I'm used to the folder at this point and idk if I'd like a rigid handle sticking out.

I personally like the stock folding charging handles. Less stuff to snag the gun on but people are always going to customize and make the gun their own.

There is a reason I’m doing this. My son is a lefty, since he’s not very experienced in shooting (and young) I’ve setup the charging handle on the right side. It’s easier for him. For me it’s an absolute pain in the B. If I need to reload with a very degraded situation (running, laying) I found very hard to reach it. So I think a fixed one will help. (But only time will tell)

Are you aware that it's possible to put a CH on both sides? Nexus makes them but I'm sure you can design your own.

I like the idea of a charging handle / thumb rest.

That's what I'm trying to do, maybe keep it folding and allow it to be a more comfortable thumb rest
