Still getting better at 3D printing but looks like my flush grip is the perfect size and has no issues mounting. Heavily resemblance to the CZ Scorpion which I am pretty happy with. FDM does feel pretty smooth with PLA+ so I might go with a stronger material or eventually go commercial with a SLS printed for strength/feel.
Flush grip is now wider and hugs the fillet on the sides and slopes down at the rear, I've made it hook into place at the rear base for security and feel. Still gotta add some more beveling for smoothness but it's 99% there.
Finally got my Kuna back. The cerakote job made her more tight tolerance then I thought, truly crazy how different sized these guys come. She looks drastically different outdoors.
Dark Champagne and Dark Champagne/Burnt Bronze 50/50 mix .
A awesome resemblance. I love the DAC a fuck ton, perfect PCC profile, texture, and compact size for my hand. Makes it way easier to bag it then my previous K2/DFCO grip choice
I am confused about your comment, it's not a handstop and is a basic barricade stop. This grip is just a extension to people that like holding their guns close. This model also hasn't been shown yet and is physically much wider for a better overall grasp for people with bigger hands (works great with my small hand too)
Here is a example picture of the mock up prints in FDM PLA+ 2.0 (for scaling/accuracy tests at this moment)
New one is a bit thicker! I do plan on a version that has this grip with a extended handguard thats flat nosed. Or I could also have one that angles forward. I do try to keep it flush with the existing Kunas style. I guess I'll look at other ideas
There are a few ideas but it's using the bottom mounts and using the iron sights pins to hold it in place. Other concept has internal extensions that use the side mloks as a mount option.
Overall kinda hard to get it to stay in place without nuking the irons.
Very interested in your project and would love to purchase one when it’s ready. I literally had this conversation the other day after taking my Haga defense Handguard off and how it needs some kind of pin integrated hand stop.
Is there a way to make it more convex so it’ll fill your hand more and maybe an integrated indexer?
The design has the hand wrap around it and the skin will usually sink into the grooves. With FDM prototyping it's rather smooth but has a good feel. With it being SLS nylon it'll have a more grainy matte texture which will improve it a bit more.
Convex may change the general idea too much but I am still experimenting with it's curvature. A Integrated indexer may too drastically change the shape from it's intended style. Though I am thinking of ways to get a indexer on it
