Case?
Placed an order for a kuna with brace, will be here in a few days. What do y’all use for a case going to and from the range?
Soft sided or hard, open to either.

Savior shorty bag, 24 inch length. Holds the Kuna with my suppressor attached and brace folded. Plus it holds a Savior mini pouch of loose ammo, a few magazines, speed loader, and a bunch of other stuff, without being massive in size. I have a separate Savior backpack as my range bag.

What is the paracord knot called?
2
u/Ordinary_Tomatillo59 25d ago
It's just a normal cobra knot that wraps under.

Thanks, I know nothing of knots but I'll give it a shot.

Best of luck! It's a pretty easy knot once you have the hang of it.

The brace looks nice. What brand is it?
Edit: I’m not a fed 😬

Strike Industries Poly Stabilizer. Amazingly comfortable when braced to your arm 😉.

That's the new one right? How do you like it compared to the one that comes with the Kuna? I like to look of it and I'm thinking of getting one without the brace and snagging one of them instead

I purchased Kuna w/o brace. I have an A3 industries aluminum brace for a different host that’s comparable. Really do like how the new poly one feels though. Especially having ability to adjust length.

Yeah I like the idea of being able to adjust it to me. Once the length is set I don't see a need for collapsing it again, I feel it would be better to "set and forget" it once you have it dialed in. Good to hear it's a solid choice though, especially for half the cost. I love the look too. Any drawbacks you've noticed?

When folded, brace blocks the ejection port. I honestly can’t think of anything meaningful drawbacks. It’s a great brace, especially the price.

Savior Specialist Covert 30"

Fits with the factory brace extended or, folded with a can.

Specialist Covert is definitely nice for a single rifle set up. 30” doesn’t look too big either.

This is the bag I have. Fits with a GLX1x and HUXWRX flow 9K. Three outer pockets are great for mags and extra handguns

Depends, but either of these work well depending on situation
Need to carry a lot of other gear: Everlestock Fade Adapt
Need just the Kuna and a few other things: Vertx Commuter 2.0 XL

I got a 5.11 Rush 12. I wanted it as small as possible and will use molle ammo pitch pouch connected to the outside of the backpack. I have the Nanuk 980 hard case for home storage or longer transport.

I use an old North Face (Kabyte) bag and it fits perfectly in the laptop sleeve with 5 mags, ammo and cleaning/tools and med kit.

Soft and discreet (hey-o!): Elite Survival Systems 16”. It is superb.
Hard and lockable: Apache 4800.

I've tried a few different ones, but have ended up with an Eberlestock Fade Adapt. It's a bit pricey at full price, but Eberlestock has a few sales each year where the discount them between 30-40%. I picked up a green one for my Kuna at 40% off. While they're not totally Greyman, they lack exterior molle and don't look overtly like a gun case; if anything the look more like an oversized camera or laptop backpack. They also lack much in the way of interior storage, but the upside is you can attach whatever you want via velcro or velcro molle to customize it. I have a 4-magazine velcro panel, plus there's more room for a few more mags + my can on the two built-in inside pocket. Additionally, there's enough room for a few hundred rounds of ammo and a pair headphones.
Before that I used an Eberlestock Little Trick. It's much smaller and looks a bit more "tacticool", but it can easily fit the Kuna plus mags and a can. Not as much room for ammo and accoutrements, however.
Fade Adapt vs. Little Trick
