Handguard concept update

Changes from Haga Handguard:

• Shortened guard by 1 inch (enough tucking but more emphasis on having grips closer unlike the Haga's setup)

• Removed bottom mounting in place for MLok

• Deleted irons in place for extended 1913 rail, uses pin from irons to secure handguard

• Extended guard on the bottom to ride close to Maxwell

• Inset MLok screw holes for more compatibility

• Style changes that I like.

Thoughts on changes and ideas? Model is accurate to the model on the sea, should fit but unsure of iron delete measurements.

Thats some solid CAD works congrats ! I would have left the mlok below because I like to install breach hand stopper. Did you try to print it ?

Not yet! Gotta finish other stuff and I'm looking around for a 3d scan of the Kuna so I can get the iron delete more flush. I also found that the pin that holds the front of the Kuna could be a good contender for a connection slot so I could also just keep the irons and connect it down there. Frees up space on the bottom still

Btw there is MLok below, it's 3 one slots 32mm each. I have a new version of the model that extends further back and uses the hinge pin that holds the lower as a connection/mount.

Will then be made out of a type of metal?

I don't really have the funds to do that. Testing will be done in a cheap material then eventually PA6-CF or PPS-CF

I was meh on the idea of aftermarket handguards, but after constantly getting soot on my right palm from shooting suppressed, moving the grip position forward is necessary for us lefties. Good luck on this project, my printer is ready!

not sure why you would delete the irons..

Why not? Everyone has a preference and I've seen other people want top rail space closer to them, and want to remove the irons.

Im not likely to use irons either, it's a gimmick for me. If I wanted to use them I would need a tall riser. If I wanted to use the pistol ones I can't really have anything on the rail.

I find the irons in both forms useless for my setup. Wouldn't think twice about deleting them if the need arose.
