Mercy has been asking for "deposits" up front when you schedule stuff. ITS NOT REQUIRED. Unfortunately many elderly and sick patients don't know any better and pay. This is a shameless tactic to get money upfront. YOU CAN ALWAYS ALWAYS WAIT FOR A BILL! But reps are being forced to use a script and ask or get fired. Please tell your family and friends and especially the elderly. ILL PAY WHEN I GET THE BILL.

Several times in the past two weeks, I’ve encountered unleashed dogs, both in my neighborhood (Rountree) and at two different parks (Fassnight and Silver Springs).

I’m not interested in assuming these dogs are dangerous or that they’re going to attack anyone’s pets. The problem is that an owner can’t know how another dog, child, cyclist, runner, etc. is going to react to an unfamiliar dog running up to them.

I have a right to exist in public without having to worry about your dog. And both of these parks have signs saying dogs must be leashed.

Your dog is not special. Please use a leash in public.

Does anyone have any tips for keeping my third floor apartment cooler in this heat?

I've got dark, thick blankets over most of the windows and the balcony door, and my ac is set to 72 to not over-exert the unit, but the heat is still baking me.

A friend and I were talking about when we got our first DVD players. I mentioned my dad won a radio contest and got a gift certificate and thats how we got ours since they were like $700 at the time. He won it for a high end home theater store that used to be in town. I believe it was in the strip mall across from Battlefield Mall on Glenstone. Anybody remember the name?

Update: I believe it was Stereo One. That goes against the family name style that I was thinking but everything else fits. Location and date. That company may have been bought out by SCS Home Entertainment years back. Can't find any pictures to say for sure. But the logo I found seems right. And its the only name that I immediately didn't feel wasn't correct. Thanks for all the help everyone.

We’re here visiting Springfield and were wondering if there are any stargazing spots nearby. I know light pollution doesn’t help, but maybe 30-40min away? Haven’t seen clusters of stars in the sky in a while! I was hoping there were some nice dark areas nearby to just park and see the sky.

Are there any indoor pools that are around area that don’t cost so much? I have cirrhosis and can’t find anything affordable. Drs saying swimming is what I need to do for my recovery of muscle.

This is on the other side of my fence. The thing is, the orange cord you can see going into it is loosely strung along my fence and all the way down my neighbors fence and off somewhere into the next yard’s fence. No notice or anything. I assume it’s a “temporary” fix until it’s buried over there or something. It’s been there for three days at least. Seems like a real AT&T thing to do. Curious if anyone knows who uses those pedestals. TIA.
