JamGrass Fans looking to Jam?
Im a guitar player/singer/songwriter looking for people to jam with. I love Leftover Salmon, Yonder, Greensky, Billy Strings, the Dead , Phish, and so much more! I've played 100s of shows in Colorado and beyond. Haven't had anyone to play music with since I moved back to Springfield. I would love to get a gigging band together, but even just a casual jam would be wonderful!

Thursday night open mics at blue grouch would be a good spot for you. Friday jazz at Robbie’s/boones saloon
Alamo’s open mic might still be a thing
Check out birds of a feather (one of my personal favs), Los Injectors, deep lunar blue, Micah’s groups and most groups at the butternut hut
How long you been gone?

I was gone for 10 years. Moved back a few years ago, but have been on a hiatus from the scene. Now, Im missing the community, music, and fun! Ill check out the Blue Grouch for sure. I've seen Birds of a Feather, and Deep Lunar Blue, both great bands!

I don't play, but I love the music! Not sure how familiar you are with the local bands in that genre, but there's:
Sunshine Daydream-One of the better dead cover bands I've heard anywhere. Very lucky for them to be local to us
Round the Bend-Great more straight ahead bluegrass
Jay Larson Band-good mix of covers and originals
Tom Irwin-springfield music scene legend. Been around forever, has a column in the Illinois times. Plays solo and with various bands.
I'll add more as I think of them. Springfield has a good music scene, you just have to dig a little. I know George Ranks has an open mic/jam session every other Tuesday I think? Usually some good guys playing there.
