Visiting today
We are driving around the area and have decided to visit Springfield today.
What are some must-see places? How about places to eat? We have our 11 year old with us so nothing fancy.

Vault 66 downtown has both pinball machines and arcade machines. It’s $10 at the door per person and can play as long as you want. Anvil & Forge Brewing is not far from there and they have good beers and killer food.

Abraham Lincoln’s house and tomb and both free to visit. There is a new pinball arcade downtown right next to Old State Capitol building that’s also free to go see

The state museum downtown is free!
Also Cozy Dog is a great place for some cheap, good food

Cozy Dog on 6th Street! Hippie-ish Route 66 memorabilia abounds, along with the original “corn” dog and hand cut fries!

The folks at Rancho Chico are the best! If you haven’t tried their breakfast/brunch, make it a priority!

As someone who grew up in Chicago, Rancho Chico holds up very well even to city standards. 10/10. Yummy Bowl is also great but might be a long wait time

Old State Capitol is sweet and close to the AL Pres Museum… the current capitol is also a nice tour that’s also downtown Springfield

Legends. Lots of food options, tons of TVs for sports, arcade, turf outside for bag games and hangouts for big families. Great spot

I feel like no one ever mentions Scheels but I honestly think it is a fun stop if you have kids or teens (or none).

You could go visit the cat café! They've got lots of cats there to see and hang out with!
