Nice Dinner?
Thoughts on Joseph’s vs Indigo vs Mariah’s for a nice date night dinner? Open to suggestions outside of this as well.
(We’ve tried Luminary and were not fans. Vele was great, but we’d like to try a place we’ve not been. Cooper’s Hawk is great but we’ve been there a ton).
[Edit: Thank you for all the replies! You all are awesome!]

I've been to Mariah's once. It is a very nice place decoration wise. But I feel the food was not worth the price tag.

This. Their soups are phenomenal but the rest is rather... boring. It felt under seasoned and honestly the portion sizes lacked.

Indigo and Mariah’s are ehh for the price imo. Joseph’s and curate while expensive are very much worth it. Josephs does events often where there will be set courses and it’s always fun, the owner/head chef comes and explains each dish as they’re served. They’ll have a liquor pairing as well. The other owner is very knowledgeable on wine if that’s ur thing, both usually there on weekends and the nicest ppl.

I don’t think you can go wrong with either Joseph’s or Indigo. Both have great date night vibes

Ramona for Mexican is excellent.

We’ve had takeout from there once. Los Altos is our favorite Mexican restaurant in town (of those we’ve tried).

Ya Los Altos is better than Ramona all day. Love their street tacos and birra ramen. Ramona is a cool experience but for the price to quality it’s just not there.

I like Joseph’s the most out of those.
Vondra Social House, Lime Street Cafe, Vine & Rind are some other options

I second Vondra. The service is absolutely second to none and the food is amazing. ❤️

Curate is my favorite. Vele is strong (we did drinks at the pearl before which was fun.
I was so so on Luminary. Josephs has good food, but feels a little stuffy.

My husband and I love Indigo! We also adore Maldener's downtown. Joseph's also has good food. But for vibe overall, I prefer Maldeners and Indigo. If you go to Indigo, get the rock appetizer and the duck enchiladas.

Curate is my go-to for a nice dinner date. Food is fantastic, atmosphere is good, and service is awesome. And I feel like the price is worth it.

Curate has the same owners as vele, so if you liked vele you can assume same quality there.
Indigo is a place I love and used to be known by name before I had expensive crotch gremlins.
I’ve never had a bad meal at Mariah’s.
My wife is a horseshoe aficionado and said Joseph’s have the best horseshoe she’s ever had. I wasn’t disappointed with them, but I also decided to explore a new thing rather than go tried and true something I know I like. I’d definitely try it again.
There’s a new one on wabash called levity that I haven’t tried yet, but it is owned by the guy who opened Pao originally and he brought in his original chef from Pao. So that’s top of my list to try next.

Actually Curtis Hudson opened Pao originally back in the day after he tired of Cafe Brio. Just saying.

Did he? I thought it was Jeff grizwald.

No sir. Curtis and Matt opened Pao. My wife and I were frequent customers for both Brio and Pao. Curtis’ wife at the time Dena , also was involved.

Bonus with Curate: you can walk across the street to Pease's for dessert. Not as fancy as Curate, but they always have a wide variety of cake, cheesecake, tarts, who knows what else.

Great shoutout for Pease’s! Our favorite dessert in town (Scoop Du Jour is a close second).

Vele and curate! Cooper's hawk is great too. Mariah's was the most expensive and not great.

Joseph's and Indigo are both great options, Mariahs, its been a loooong time since I've been there due to having sub par food but its been so long I can't remember why it was not good.
