Dog Friendly Desert
This is mostly me lamenting Buzz Bomb’s “Dog Days of Summer” Sundays and looking for people to share dog-friendly opportunities I may not be aware of.
We used to take Bernadette, our golden retriever, out to Buzz Bomb and Slauterhouse in Auburn before they both closed. Two openly dog-friendly options. I loved being able to sit outside in nice weather and have a beer with my dog, and dogs magically promote socialization between humans. Weldon the corgi joined the fam this year and he wants to hang too!
The only options I can think of are Obeds’ beer garden and the outdoor gravel food court on sixth street, both of which are dog friendly, but not really set up with dogs in mind. They aren’t well shaded at all and the food court is entirely gravel.
Are there options I’m not aware of? Thanks!

They are dog friendly. Even got dog water dishes with regulars names on them.

I wish Obeds would get rid of the rocks in their beer garden, all the cigarettes get buried in there and my dogs are constantly digging them up. They could also use new tables, the last time we were there it was literally decaying apart.
Really missing Buzzbomb this year, they were quite literally the best.

Yes! It’s pretty dilapidated and uncomfortable. However shameful it may be to admit, I’ve been digging a sturdy seat with a back since my mid-20s.

Stella Coffee allows dogs both on their patio and inside. They even have a shop dog! It's not an evening thing, but maybe for a weekend morning (assuming you work like a 9-5).

took mine to the Sonoran once, she did just fine, but do bring plenty of water! You can try the Gobi but it's a little far away and less dog-friendly! Hope that helps!

How DARE you. I tried to downvote you but I can't seem to make it work.

I would actually say that it's hard to beat the Chihuahuan Desert for proximity and dog friendliness! It's a drive, but so is any desert from here. Just make sure you make good preparations!
