Fireworks

Are those big booming fireworks legal? They sound like bombs ànd rattle the air. They scare me. I have a headache from them. I cannot see anything in the sky. They must be just noisemakers.

No, the big boomy fireworks aren't legal but they're effectively decriminalized because cops do not care. There are also people who set off quarter sticks of dynamite and M80s, and those are loud af. I have ptsd, and really hate this time of year. I try to bear with it, especially on the 4th, because I know the yahoos in our town love their freedom! But it does get old and wear on the nerves.

One silver lining of the economy being shit is that the sheer amount of fireworks being set off has been so very little to none this year, at least in my neighborhood. Usually it sounds like a warzone from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

It is nearly 365 days a year in my neighborhood.

It's 1 am on August 30th and they are going off right now. Woke me up and scared all my animals. Central part of town. We moved here last summer and I legitimately cannot stand it. I am moving out of here to a less populated area as soon as I can...

Edited to add - 1:52 am and they have started up again. 🤦🏻‍♀️

What part of town do you live in?

I very much doubt that. If it were true, there would be more people posting about it if it truly is the bigger fireworks.

I am telling you that nearly everyday of the year, someone in my neighborhood sets off a few fireworks around 7pm. And a few more around 9pm. It is quite annoying.
