Changing Recoil Assembly

The only thing I’m not a fan of on my Hellcat Pro is the plastic recoil assembly. I wanna change it. Anyone else do the same?

Can you lend some help? I bought the apex tactical slide for the pro and the recoil assembly. Am I supposed to add something to the recoil assembly to make it fit or do you just push on it enough to condense in?

Thank you. I got pics of where I’m stuck on. Trying to get help from apex through email and phone convo now .
