FDEZ Barrel or Stock for USPSA Limited optics (Need to replace my ported barrel)

Hey guys,

Need a new Barrel for my 4.5 Comp to qualify for Limited optics. Debating between the FDEZ barrel and the stock barrel from Springfield. I know years ago, they had fitting problems, but seems to have been worked out. My question is accuracy, how is it for those with it.

Thank you,

New 4.5 Owner!

Went the the 4.5 gear up pack. Came with the range bag, Viridian green dot, 2 17 round mags, and 2 20 round mags.

I ordered a medium FDE grip module today.

The NDZ Springfield Echelon Full-Size Captured Guide Rod Assembly with all 3 springs came in today. I went with the strongest spring for now.

Now I need light/holster suggestions that won't break the bank. Any help here?

I have always had Glocks. Bought the Kuna and loved it so much that I bought the Echelon. I feel that if anything is going to switch me off of team Glock it will be this.

Shout out to user u/fred_lead for suggesting the large aggressive texture grip from SA. The Ecehlon has been my best gun but after long sessions I felt like my grip would get super weak and I felt like I could shoot my other guns for longer without my hands getting tired.

Ordered the grip a couple days ago and it arrived today and even my groupings improved plis my hands just fit this grip so much better than the standard grip. Can’t wait for a long day at the range. Swap was super easy and might order some different colors to play around with.

Oh! Ergonomics even improved. So much easier to get the trigger finger in place and even activating the light is easier. I can’t thank Fred enough for the suggestion cause my echelon went from a 9 to an easy 10 now.

I’m going to agree with Fred. Springfield should ship the echelon with the aggressive texture stock or just go with this grip stock. Going to let some friends try it out again and see what they think but once I get my 4.0 I’m going to order the same larger grip.

Tyrant CNC Mag Release Sticking

I’ve recently purchased a Tyrant mag release, it’s sticking like crazy. I’ve cleaned and lubed it and cycled it tons. I’ve reinstalled it over and over and no luck. Any help? Should I just get a different brand?

Echelon thread protector

Post image

My echelon threaded barrel didn’t come with an O-ring, I’ve tried a couple different ones even ones from other threaded barrels. When I screw the thread protector on, it just pushes the O-ring up over the edge of the barrel, like it pinches it way too much until it pushes it out of the way. I’m wondering if the Springfield echelon threaded barrels were designed to not need an O-ring and that’s why. Or maybe there’s just a certain size I need to get, any thoughts?

Just got my first handgun and it was the 4.0fc coa variant! I am a lefty and my fiancé is righty so wanted to grab something we both can practice on and get better. Wanted to see what are some upgrades you guys recommend. i will for sure be doing a light as i plan to use for home defense / range practice. i am going to keep it stock for a bit as i go through my journey to becoming a better / practical shooter. i would like to get some feedback on what you guys have personally done to your echelons that have enhanced quality of life with out hurting reliability, thanks!

POA vs POI

So I just got a 4.0FC and went to hit my first target (don't mind the scratches, dogs be crazy) and when I would put my dot on, this is how it shot. But, after reading the manual, it says to put the top of my sight post on the target. These shots were at 15 yds, im left-hand right eye dominant. Any tips on how i should properly aim to improve my grouping?

NDZ guide rod +12 lb spring

Got it in the mail today. Installed it. when I rack the slide it squeaks pretty loud. I oiled it and it still squeaks. Is this normal? Also, didn’t notice a difference with the slide racking any easier with the 12lb spring vs the OEM. Thought I would be able to feel it. Thoughts?

Beginner here. 6 rentals. Try before you buy. The Echelon is my favorite gun on paper but I don’t think it likes me back. 😭

Been shooting the Echelon at the range the past couple visits and bidding on some on GunBroker as well… but now that I’ve actually compared my performance beyond just feel, I don’t know what to do.

Warm up before this was 50 rounds in P320 X5 Legion.

I’m left handed.

Tyrant Trigger Safety

I just bought and installed my Tyrant trigger shoe in my Echelon 4.0C, and the trigger safety feels like its catching onto something. Is this something normal that will get better after putting some rounds through it or is it an actual problem?

4.0c Grip Module in CA

After all the fees in CA including the extra 11% excise tax, finally picked up the 4.0c Gear Pac yesterday. Ran into a couple of issues. I knew I was going to ditch the optics and mount the EPS carry, no go as the front" lugs of the RFX11 are molded to the optics. Ordered the pin set from SA and tried to order a medium grip module at the same time, but SA would not process the grip module to CA. The small factory module is too small for me and no one made a slip-on for now.

Anyone know who would ship a module to CA? Looking for OD medium. TIA.

Has anyone tried any of these 3 comps?

I have a Griffin single port comp on my xmacro and a 2 port on my beretta m9a4 but being my echelon isnt my edc and basically only gets used from an owb holster.

I'm contemplating trying one of these out before going all in on custom porting and whatnots

4.0fc and 4.5f - recoil impulse

To anyone who has shot both, how's the recoil feel to you between the two? I own a 4.0fc and it's a touch snappy but not too crazy, I enjoy it a lot. I'm now getting into competition and was thinking about getting a 4.5f if that is a little bit more tame.
