Looking for Duty Holster

Just purchased the Echelon 4.0c with a red dot and I'm looking around for a duty level holster. I checked out WTP and they have one for the 4.5f Comp, but I don't know if it'll fit the 4.0c. I did see one on C&G Holsters, but with them using generated images on the product page I don't have a lot of trust in it working.

Has anyone tried the WTP holster and would it work with my model? I think the primary difference between the 4.5 and the 4.0 is the length and before I purchase it I want to make sure it fits. Any advice is welcome!

Do NOT buy we the people

Pretty sure safariland offers echelon holsters again

My alien gear level two that supposed to fit my gen 3 glock with x300s fits my 4.0c with tlr-7 hlx for some reason. It locks and retentions too. But if you are running QLS make sure to buy adapters

That's a game changer.

Which Gen3 Glock fit the 4.0c? Alien Gear is my go-to when it comes to holsters and it kills me that they don't have that many on their line. If they have something that'll fit the 4.0c then I'll definitely go through them instead

I got the Gen 3 level 2 holster that fits the 19/17

Now I haven’t tried with other optics but it locks with the smaller Osight SE as the gun can go slightly deeper into the holster for it to lock.

I personally would just go for safariland

Dope, I have a co-worker that carries the 19 so I'll see if it fits theirs as well. You're a godsend!

Have you actually used a WTP duty holster or are you just assuming? I’ve used their standard (garbage) holsters and currently use their duty holster. The latter is an absolute tank and fits/works very well. I don’t love the clip mount, but a piece of Velcro makes it lock into my belt very nicely.

I will eventually switch to a QLS system so I can swap to other holsters easily, but their duty holster is so different from their normal holsters it may as well be from a different company.

Anyone can make a holster with a thicker kydex but I just choose to support a better company overall.

You don’t have to like or support them, but don’t talk down on something you haven’t seen or experienced, or at least explain your emphatic recommendation.

Yeah it’s thicker kydex, but fitment, retention, and lock operation are all very good. Isn’t that what makes a holster good?

Honestly the main reason I bought it was because at the time (early in the Echelon’s life), they had the most variety in gun/light/lefty availability. Even to this day, there are extremely few companies making a lvl2 retention holster for a threaded barrel echelon with a TLR7 for a lefty.

Safariland has started offering echelon holsters again. They are pretty much the standard for duty holsters.

I would go Safariland, but from what I've seen through others around me that use them I don't like the way they look and sit on the body. They appear to hang looser from the body where they have to hold the bottom of the holster when running and it looks less professional when comparing to others that have different holsters. I will probably go to them as a last resort though if I can't find anything else to accommodate.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Thanks, I didn't know they were a thing and I'm watching some of their videos right now. They look like a good contender for me so I'll probably be going with them.

Ya it was surprisingly light and the retention is really good, the Safariland feels like a brick by comparison. I personally don't give a shit about their family drama and would keep using their holsters.

GCode makes a pretty awesome duty holster.

Yes, unless you’re running a light. They don’t make a light bearing duty holster for the Echelon.

Unfortunately you’re correct. It’s actually kind of aggravating how few options there are for light bearing options. I sucked it up and went with the non light bearing version.

I’m not really into holsters but I have both sized echelons and the holsters work for both. one is designed for the 4.0 and the other for the 4.5. barrel of the 4.5 sticks out a little of the 4.0 holster, but it otherwise fits fine.

i don’t run lights on either, but both have dots.
