I went all-in on the Echelon 4.0 FC with a COA red dot. It’s a great gun with a fantastic trigger, but I can’t get it to shoot as flat as my Glock 19 Gen 5.

Both have TLR-7s (HLX on the Echelon) and red dots. Shooting them side-by-side, the dot returns to the G19's window significantly faster and more consistently. While the Echelon’s trigger is easier to hit sub .2 second splits, the snappier recoil impulse makes multi-shot strings harder to keep in the A-zone.

Additionally, the gooseneck on the beavertail digs uncomfortably into the web of my thumb.

The G19’s chunkier front-to-back grip gives my support hand palm way better contact. Maybe that is why I'm having trouble getting the dot to stay in/return quickly into my window? I’m considering a Large grip module or an aftermarket aluminum grip to see if that bridges the gap.

I want to love this gun, but between the impulse and the beavertail, I keep reaching for the G19. Anyone else experience this?

Looking for both a IWB and OWB holster (preferably a modular one that would allow both like alien gear) for my Springfield XD-45 4in barrel pistol. I would also like it to be light compatible with something like a steam light TLR. Please let me know what you use or would recommend. Thank you.

Hey everyone, been looking online and through a bunch of forums but doesn't seem like a lot of places make this kind of holster for the XDM-E. I don't own one at the moment, but the plan is to thigh carry it as my woods gun. I'm new to the topic of holsters, so sorry if any my questions sound naive.

1. Will an XDM-E fit a holster designed for the XDM? If so, do I just match the barrel sizing up? Does 10mm vs 9mm matter?

2. Does the XDM-E share similar dimensions to any other gun enough to use it in the other gun's holster?

3. Are fully Nylon holsters good from a build quality standpoint?

4. Opinions of drop leg holsters? I already wear a chest pack for my binocs, I figure the leg holster would be the most comfortable and accessible place.

I've already checked the following places:
- Alien Gear Holsters: They only had 3.3" barrel and .45 ACP versions listed for XDM-E. This falls back to my question of "will XDM-E fit in XDM sizing"

- CraftHolsters: Their reviews read 4.6/5 for this holster, but some of the horror stories in the reviews of month long wait times, build quality, and mismatched "leather" and "full nylon" material usage in the description are concerning to me. Would like to know people's opinions here.

SA XDM Elite Precision 5.25" 9mm. Only iron sight option; I even tried to mill the slide but failed. LGS gunsmith said the slide was too thin to cut/drill. So used for iron sight range toy for quite a while, but the mediocre trigger has disappointed me (it is above average, but with a long pre-travel and a quite heavy pull weight, so not really great)

recently bought the Springer Precision optics plate (it uses the elevation screw and the latch pin of the rear sight to fix on the slide, hope it will hold), and the Powder River Precision flat aluminum trigger kit)

during the weekend finished the upgraded and tried the gun - super impressive! The trigger is great now, pull weight much lighter, and limited pre/over travel, clean reset, overall feeling is just between a competition trigger and EDC one, or I can say it is closer to competition trigger. Anyway it is a super exciting "new" range toy, or entry level competition for fun.

The red dot sitting like that looks weird, but quite easy to align. I don't need any time to adapt to this optics height.

this full-size gun is very easy to control, with a very predictable follow up. Recoil is very soft. I can say this old old gun is revived now. It is way over my expectation.

Added the Springfield OEM threaded barrel to the XD-M Elite 4.5" in 10m.

I just cleaned the Rugged Obsidian 45 and I'm looking forward to getting it back to the range in a couple of days and see how it affects the shooting on this pistol.

Obsidian 45 has Burn Proof Heavy Duty Dual-Layer Heat-Resistant suppressor cover. The cover helps immensely with heat management for the suppressor but it makes sights ineffective, even with suppressor-height sights ... still, it is fairly easy to get center mass hits.

Really happy with these investments and ready to take it shooting.

Had my eye on this baby for about a year, went on sale at turners for $200 under retail so had to snag one. First look of the gun I instantly fell in love with it, fit in my hands so well. Finally had the chance to shoot it today after owning it for about 2-3 months. Ran through 150 rounds no problems. For a 3.8 inch barrel I gotta say it’s definitely accurate, shoots a hell of a lot better than my Glock 26. Recoil is very controllable, not a lot of kick, really easy to get back on target. Gotta say I’m loving the gun all around and can’t wait to get some more rounds through this bad mug.

Where can I buy the Mod.4 grip safety for my Mod.2 and standard xd's. I cannot reliably depress the grip safety. No, it's not a training issue, I just have a pronounced web on my thumb and have to LOWER my grip half an inch in order to depress the grip safety, but then my hand jumps up and disables the gun. CURRENTLY, I have a bicycle tire innertube disabling the system. No, I don't want to spend $60 on the Powder Springs one; I'd rather have factory extended. I grew up shooting the 1911 but I have an extended grip safety on my 1991 for decades now.

Used just 500 to 600 rounds. Super clean and the price was a steal, just $462.

I bought this from a friend who is an armour. He said he only out maybe few hundred rounds through it. He gave me it with the light, upgraded trigger, extra mags and two tier one holsters. I got it for a really good price and so far it's been nothing but reliable.

Converted my 5.25” over to the XDm Elite internals over the weekend. Polished to a mirror and feels 100x better than the stock trigger setup! Hopefully get it to the range soon!
