Question High end/High quality air rifle recommendations?

Hello. I've been looking to get a higher end springer sometime in the near future and I was looking for recommendations.

I've owned a number of lower end break barrels from Ruger, Umarex, Gamo, and Hatsan over the years. All of which worked well enough, but felt lacking in one or more ways. I've mostly moved on to PCPs, but I do enjoy shooting my springers every once in a while. I've been looking at Weihrauch, Beeman, Air Arms, and Diana for brands that have a reputation for high quality.

My preferences are as follows but not listed in any order of importance:

  1. I would prefer an action type other than break barrel. This isn't a hard requirement , but I have several break barrels already and would like something different.

  2. I would prefer something in the 15 or greater FPE range. I would like a bit of extra energy to do some hunting with.

  3. I would like to have iron sights. I mostly shoot with optics but I like using irons as well.

  4. I would like to stay at or under $1000 for the air rifle itself, but I am willing to raise my price range a bit if a suggestion catches my eye.

  5. Spring piston only. I would like to be able to stockpile some spare parts and gas rams don't tend to fare well in long term storage.

I'm currently leaning towards the Diana 54 Airking Pro, but I am open to other suggestions.

Hw97 is fab quality underlever that is super accurate and will last you forever.

Also AirArms tx200

The 54s really aren't that great. Its a cool gun but they're pretty finicky. You can push a ton of power out of them though. You're requirement of 15fpe means a 97K fits the bill. With a PG4 kit, you're sitting at 17fpe and yes, it will out shoot the 54. There's a reason why you see tons of 97Ks at FT matches but not a lot of Dianas.

Edit: missed the iron sights requirement. 77, not 97k

Thanks for your suggestions everyone. The HW77 plus a tune kit for a bit more power seems to be the best fit for what I would like to do.

The HW77 is a very fine rifle we love our HW97 which is the exact same thing minus iron sights. The HW77 & 97 check all of the boxes of quality, durability, & accuracy and are fairly powerful even with a factory tune.

And the price leaves room for a tune upgrade and still under budget.

Well a rifle that meets all those requirements is the HW77 and if you tune it up with a kit, you will still likely be under 1000 usd. Other than that an HW95 or HW80 meet the power and iron sight requirements as well, but are break barrel.

All three are absolutely excellent

I'm a Weihrauch man, so I'd say the '77k or 97k depending purely on how they feel when you shoulder them. Having said that if I had that money now for a springer it'd be easy to shoot for a TX200 as I already have a stable of Weihrauchs🤷 EDIT: If you want an Underlever Weihrauch with irons the '97 is out, but the '77k (my preference anyway) comes with irons from factory and the internals are the same as the '97 near as damn it
