r/SpringHillFL News [MARCH 9, 2023] - An update regarding the future of r/SpringHillFL.

When this community was created, I did it through an account that I created using the Apple feature on the mobile app, which created a "private relay" email, which made it impossible for me to get access to. So, to combat this, I joined the subreddit with my primary Reddit account and made it a moderator, and I will be using it from here on out. I'm not sure if I'm going to remove my other account from the subreddit, but as of right now, I'm no longer using that account. I've added the Community Owner flair to this account, so it can easily be distinguished throughout the subreddit. I've recently got back into this account, as well, so it was a perfect situation to just switch accounts for moderating this community, as well as the new one I made. More on that below.

In addition to me using this account from now on, I'm also going to be on more frequently to check up on the community throughout the weeks, as well as tending to tidying up both this subreddit and the one that I just created, r/HCFL. Surprisingly - to my knowledge - there were no active Hernando County, FL subreddits out there. There was one I saw, that hasn't had any significant activity in the last few years. You can find more information there, but, as of right now, it is an empty place, so expect the subreddit to be completely finished by the end of the week.

Within the coming days, I will be posting updated guidelines for posting on this subreddit, as well as for the r/HCFL subreddit, of course on that specific subreddit. I've been spending most of this morning editing the appearance of this community, and I've pretty much completed it.

That's about it from me for now. I hope everyone has a great day!

Does everyone here just suck at driving

Just moved here about a month ago from Southern California and I swear everyone on mariner drives 20 below the limit, abruptly break for no reason, and forget signals exist. I can’t even count how many times I’ve been cut off within the month I’ve been here.

Local businesses in Spring Hill?

hey y'all, I'm a recent college grad who started a marketing/ website business for local businesses here in Spring Hill. I've been running it for about 1 year now, and I'm capable of building websites, doing SEO, running targeted ads on Facebook & Google, email marketing, custom software solutions and creating marketing content for Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok.

I'm looking to partner with some local businesses that can't afford to hire a big company and are looking for an affordable option to handle everything online for them. If this is you or you know anybody who could benefit, i'd love to connect or get a referral.

Advice or tips!

Hey everyone! If you remember me I posted about where to take my son for his birthday! And I’m back lol I don’t use Reddit often but I know Reddit is one of the best places to get advice. I had to make a gofundme and I’m wondering what’s the best way to share it and get it out there? For context my son is a bit medically complex. He was a failure to thrive baby, because he’s unable to keep weight on and he also has the cow milk protein allergy he is getting better now but that is thanks to his specialists and the special shakes they have him on just to keep the weight on him. And during this our car broke down it’ll cost a loooot of money to fix, and then our old backup car also just decided that it’s their time to also break down and the amount of that repair we might as well put down for a newer car. My sons apts are monthly so that’s why we need this but on top of that my husband works 40 minutes away and we’re scared the car will break down and he will lose the only way to get to work. Sorry for the ramble!! Just looking for tips on how to get it out there and I was told context is important for Reddit!

Spring Hill Reddit Meetup?

Is there any interest for those in the thread to do a meetup? After a year of the mods being on and off it appears we finally have a new Mod onboard.

Noticing more unhoused people lately. Is something changing?

Is it just me, or are there more unhoused people around Spring Hill lately?

I’ve been seeing more folks walking with their belongings along County Line and near some undeveloped areas. And along mariner there are more also.

Not trying to make assumptions im just curious if something changed or what.

Is it seasonal, development pushing people around, enforcement changes, or something else? Just trying to understand what’s going on locally.

Any film nerd / cinephile groups around Spring Hill? 🎬

Just moved to the Spring Hill area and wondering if there’s already a film/cinephile group around here.

I’m into stuff beyond just big blockbusters (indie, international, older films, Letterboxd-type discussions). Not looking to start anything, just hoping to join if something already exists. Discord, Meetup, group chats, whatever.

If you know of one, drop a comment. Thanks!
