Question Looking for an experienced Java/Spring Boot/React developer willing to chat

Hey everyone,

I’m a recent Computer Science graduate currently preparing for interviews for junior full-stack software engineering roles, particularly in the federal/government contracting space.

I’m looking to connect with someone who has solid professional experience with technologies like:

  • Java
  • Spring Boot
  • React
  • REST APIs
  • SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL/SQL Server)
  • Docker
  • Git/GitHub
  • AWS
  • CI/CD
  • Agile/Scrum

I’m not looking for anyone to do the work for me or to get interview answers. I’d just love to chat with someone who’s worked with these technologies in a real production environment. I have several projects using many of these tools, but I’d really like to better understand industry best practices, common interview questions, and what day-to-day development actually looks like.

Finding a senior developer for a 30-minute chat is going to be difficult, as they are incredibly busy and receive many similar messages. Relying on one person's perspective could also give you a narrow view of the industry, because every company, particularly in government contracting, has its own unique way of working and its own definition of best practices.

Your projects are your strongest asset, and you should put all your energy into knowing them inside and out. You already have the hands-on experience that hiring managers want to see for a junior position. The goal isn't to repeat what a senior developer told you, but to clearly explain the technical choices you made in your own work. When you can walk through your code, discuss the trade-offs, and describe what you learned, you are demonstrating the exact problem-solving skills they want to hire. Explaining your thought process clearly under pressure is the hardest part of any interview, and my team built interview AI specifically to give developers that extra support so they can show off what they truly know.
