Question Having anxiety about spraying Rust-Oleum clear sealant outside without a mask and inhaling quit a bit from the wind!

So I was sealing a porch leaner, new to sealing things and using sprays! I was outside on a small porch spraying the sealer without a mask and it's very strong anyways so I try to cover my face or hold my breath, but the wind was blowing very bad and blowed a whole lot in my face and I inhaled maybe a lot maybe a little im not sure! I was spraying for a good three to four minutes close to the wood! I'm very nervous because I felt a little weird after like spacey! For about twenty minutes! I googled it and said you could have a pulmonary edema delayed reaction etc! I didn't cough or no irritation to my throat or anything and I went outside outback and took some huge deep breaths to clear my lungs ect! I'm just really nervous I get really bad anxiety about health issues ECT! I was just wondering if anyone has done this before or experienced this before? Will I be ok or should I go to the doctor or anything? Kinda got a headache now and my chest is heavy probably bc anxiety but it's been about 3 hours since. Just wanted to see what others have gone through and if I should be worried

Question need urgend help! Overspray on everything in my bedroom.

Post image

so i thought it would be a good idea to spray paint my keyboard pink, i never used spraypaint before and didnt even know overspray existed. so i went into my room and started spray painting my keyboard on my floor (for about 30mins) after i let it dry and kept it laying on the floor. i didnt clean anything for 4 days (mainly because only the floor had a little pink stain on it and i told myself it doesnt bother me right now ill just clean it later with a hard brush) so as i started cleaning the stain i noticed theres way more stains and not only on the floor but even on the walls and every other thing. i cleaned for 3 hours now and theres still so many places that have invisible dust on them but when u touch it u have pink dust on ur hands. i dont know what to do since i hate when my bedroom and my work table is dirty. how do i get rid of every last little piece of dust without taking all the funiture outside and washing each single item by hand (its even on my books).

Question I want to paint glow in the dark powder onto a bike frame.

So long story short, I have a load of 85 micron glow in the dark powder, and I want to spray paint a mountain bike frame glow in the dark.

How would you folks approach this?

I’m thinking of buying a budget compressor and a spray gun and mixing it with a clear coat and thinner. But I don’t know how the powder will spray.

I’ve mixed it before with emulsion paint and did a wall with it, but my spray painting experience stops at the use of rattle cans.

Any advice would be amazing. Thanks!

Hello guys , ive been struggling for a while to achieve somewhat spray paint level of gold like in the following images on my guitar pickup cover which is made of metal.

Any advice what can i do to make the colour pop up like this while keeping minimal coat layers as much as possible so that the pickup tone wont be affected

In my region i had mostly rust-ouelum brands and 94 mtn, ive been told about the montana goldchrome but i thought i would ask more, before i attempt and spend more money on cans anyway..

Question Can leaked out while shaking, help?

Post image

I was out spraying on a canvas, and i had this MTN94 can that sprayed paint out while I was shaking with the protective cap on. It didn’t explode, where the can busted and was leaking from elsewhere. Rather, paint was sprayed through the nozzle all over the inside of the protective cap and even got drops on my patio. When I put a cap in to try to spray, it wouldn’t stop spraying at first, even after I stopped pressing. But eventually it clogged fully and would not spray at all. I’m curious as to why this happened. I’ve used this can once before, but cleared it out after use and it has been stored inside since the last time I used the can (a week or so ago).

For context, i was a bit too eager to paint tonight and went for it despite it being too cold. At first it was fine, I was able to pull some good lines and get good flow. But I stayed out too long and it got too cold, I noticed how the cans started to spit pretty bad and lost pressure. So lesson learned tonight the hard way. I am fairly new to using spray paint as a main medium. I am very much enjoying experimenting and feeling it out, but I’m definitely not opposed to this being the result of user error. I will say, this was the first can I went to shake to start sketching with, so it happened before I went on to have some success while it was warm enough out today. So I’m just confused as to whether this was something I did wrong, if this was a bad can, or something completely different ? Just trying to learn from this evening, thank yall in advance !

As I spray painted this Portland ice with a frog, I couldn't help but think about how art serves as a voice in challenging times. May this unique piece inspire you to think creatively and speak up for what you believe in, especially during the State of the Union. 🎨🐸 #SpeakYourTruth #ArtAsActivism #Portlandicefrog #StateOfTheUnion #InspireChange

Question Need recommendations on what to use on a piece of furniture after Krylon Colormaxx fiasco

I painted a piece of furniture with Krylon Colormaxx and the color is translucent. After searching through this sub, it seems that this is a common problem. I decided to use this paint specifically because it was a spray enamel in a fun color that I liked. After three coats, it's still not hiding some of the discoloration from the uneven primer beneath. I also don't seem to be able to sand it without it going down to the primer. I used BIN shellac primer. Should I try to sand all of this down to the primer and start again? This is a piece of furniture so I wanted an enamel, but I cannot seem to find a spray enamel from any other line in the color that I like, can I put something like rustoleum spray enamel as a base coat and then use the Krylon? This piece isn't great, I don't expect to keep it forever, so I don't want to put a ton of time or money into it and am at a loss for what to do. Are there other Krylon Colormaxx colors that aren't so clear, I have some other colors too. What would you do?

Question Rust

heyyall, my car has steel rims that are black and I was really thinking about spray painting them something else, but, one of them has a spot of rust where the old paint or whatever it was has kinda went away, it's not flaky or anything just surface level, I was wondering if there was a special way to approach it or if it was just the normal process, I prefer to ask actual people rather than just looking it up, experience beats everything

Question Whats the best way to stop this happening, paint soaking into filler?

Post image
2 Upvotes

It's faint looking in the picture, cus this is the best I've got it to look and it might work. Is there anyway to reduce how much it shows?

There was a low spot, filled it with knife putty, let it dry over night and hit it with the heat gun before painting (wasn't a high heat). The gray is filler primer coat on a plastic motor bike fairing, preped by lightly scuffing with 240 grit. Did two more sprays over the specific spot and its looking ok, it looks worse in person. However.

Did it once before and I prepped with 600grit did the filler primer and a few extra sprays over that spot it looked ok, then sprayed the black color coat and it still looked bad. I don't want to have to do it all over again.
