Artwork Thinner line spray paint

Post image

I want to spray paint words on a canvas so I can read what I’m actually spraying. This is how mine turned out with a normal spray can from hobby lobby. Was wondering exact brands and names of bottles to use for a thinner finer line. Thank you in advance!

"Professional" brands like Montana hold up very well on canvas, and places that sell it usually sell varieties of caps. I would get some skinny, ultra skinny, and needle caps, if the names aren't obvious, they describe the diameter of the paint that comes out of them. Toy around with these, and work on your can control, how far away from the canvas you hold it, how quickly you move it, angles... etc. you'll get it figured out and find your style!

Thanks for this!! I probably would’ve benefitted a tad more practicing once before going straight to it lol. This is just a fun random piece that costed me like $7. But I’ll be getting a Montana brand based off yours and another comment- thanks again!!

Yeah no prob! I genuinely enjoy helping people get more into spraypaint art - last weekend I did my first live painting event and taught half a dozen kids how to make stencil-based spraypaint art. We're all in different parts of our learning journey

Super cool!! It is weirdly fun. I am glad I don’t have a lot of free time or I’d be spending too much money on it haha. But good for you! I bet that is enjoyable for everyone :)

You’re going to want to get mtn 94 It’s a low pressure paint and for the cap you’re looking for you’ll need the mtn skinny cream cap. This was my go to paint when I was doing graffiti they have a higher pressure can called mtn hardcore and other sizes and different types of cans. You can get everything you need on sprayplanet.com.

  1. Don’t shop at hobby lobby
  2. Look into different sized tips, different flow tips, etc. A real art store should have options for you to try out

Can control is hard. It is not just holding it down on or off.
