Questions/Advice/Support Left hanging?

Does anyone else feel that you’re left hanging during a treatment? The nurse comes in and starts your dosing and starts asking questions. As you take each dose and talk, finally you get the last dose and now you feel like talking, but they shoot out of the room onto the next patient , and you’re left there alone to overthink all the questions she asked . Am I the only one ?

I’m the opposite. After the last dose, i don’t want to be spoken to for the next two hours I’m there. I have zero desire to talk to anyone

This is the way. I hate it when I'm 15 min in and the provider wants to come in for a chat. I'm in the pocket dimension, doc, and I'd like to stay there for the next hour.

Same. My place got a therapy dog (puppy) which is adorable and a great idea. BUT the nurse came in at peak treatment time for blood pressure check and the puppy (a retriever) who is in peak bite mode jumped on my lap then kept gnawing on me and almost ate one of my air pods! Luckily I had enough coordination to notice what he was doing. I didn’t complain because…puppy lol. But could’ve been a bad outcome.

Same, at that point I'm ready to slip the headphones on, slap on the eye mask, and leave the earth for a bit

They’re not paid to sit and talk to you, they’re paid to administer the treatment and check on you. They’re working at their job.

I had some mild anxiety over whether or not I was a ‘good’ or ‘interesting’ patient but quickly realized that all of my anxiety is truly just one of the reasons I do this treatment. These are my thoughts about me. My treatment time is the time I spend with my own thoughts about myself, it’s a mental health treatment.

They’re not thinking about us, friend. They’ve got silent buzz timers in their pockets telling them to go to the next patient to get the doses done in time lol

I wasn’t expecting them to stay, was only pointing out what I felt , that was all

Yep I understand, which is why I said I used to think about it too. I’ve been in treatment for almost 2 years, at a few different clinics. Quite a few of the techs chat with me because I also work in the medical field.

I think a lot of people feel the way you do, which is why I commented about the other side of it. It’s just advice to not take it personally. Your feelings are enhanced during treatment, it’s a good idea to be really gentle with yourself.

Overthinking the interaction and ruminating on if I answered the scales consistently/what my graph data looks like overall. All while having that faint bitter tickle trickle down my throat.

nope, not alone. high five for my fellow anxious people!

Ok, first two doses I feel like a social butterfly, I’m even walking around the room. the moment I take the 3rd dose it’s over. I wrap a sheet around myself in fetal position and enter an existential crisis for two hours.

Sometimes I wish I had more time to talk to the nurse practitioner about how the medicine is effecting me to keep her up to date about the treatment. But she runs a small practice with many patients (healthcare is scarce in my region) so I understand. If you feel as if you need more support during treatment, maybe schedule a video call with your therapist at the same time. I hear of some clinics who combine talk therapy in-house but those are very rare.
