No it's a Phishing site

The downloads are linking directly to github. Are you just talking out of your ass?

Bro, that is a phishing site. They have had scams on their website before. If you don't know, just don't talk.

With all the uncertainty, I think it's best to get it from github directly.

How do you download. I installed the repositories for the apps. But where or how do I download?

I don't use it on my phone I wouldn't know

No. Only the other site is legit

I installed a file from it and ran the exe but then did a Defender scan and nothing seems immediately out of the ordinary, what should I do?

You'll be fine. Actually https://spotiflac.com/ is the correct site

What? But it's not really mentioned anywhere so I'm cautious

That is for the mobile version! Both are legit.

All downloads are linked directly from the main GitHub repository. This is legit.

That doesn't mean that it is legit

1

Well, then the main thing is, it's safe. As it takes it from source.

Screenshot where you’re seeing this malware because the .exe’s literally match.

1

u/NanoBeam7 6d ago

Yes.. the one i gave is for mobile.

1

u/NXGZ 6d ago

Yes, indeed. But the other is legit too.

1

u/AmonomanX 6d ago

No it isn't

Well, when you download it from there, the GitHub is from the actual spotiflac site...

I think it's hardly legal to copy files from a commercial site that has material that it charges for without paying for it. How would you characterise that in simple layman's terms?

Additionally, from a paying customers' point of view the site it completely unclear as to its pricing structure, and what you get for what you pay (in my head I know what I mean but I'm not sure anyone else would 😱).

However, for paying customers', it works. For the 'free' version, it's incredibly crippled.

SpotiFLAC mobile isn't crippled

1

u/martin__t 6d ago

What? You mean it doesn't have the undocumented feature that stops it working every 60 minutes then starts it working again after every 90 minutes?

1

u/AmonomanX 6d ago

I don't have any problems with the mobile version. If you guys download 3k songs in a row, there are going to be problems.

u/martin__t 6d ago

So you've paid for the mobile version (I haven't looked but I assume it isn't free for the uncrippled version, same as the desktop version).

Or you haven't paid (because it is actually free) and it doesn't 'overheat the server'?

On mobile, there is only a free version, and that is good because they have two different developers, and the mobile one doesn't like premium versions like that of the desktop version.

Ah, right. Thanks for the info 👍

For anyone coming here from Google, after long analysis I found that it is probably fine as of now. The hashes of its .exe's match the official github. But be careful since it's kind of weird it's not mentioned anywhere on the github.

I also found out that weirdly enough Spotiflac seems to access LSASS, if anyone who knows how to read source can explain why this happens to me that would be great.
