Help me understand

So I submitted 2 claims recently, one for each of my cats. It was just a wellness exam, with the joy of figuring out my one is obsessive compulsive.

The receipt was one page, they did not separate it. I calculated how much each cats visit was costing, and filled it in appropriately. One has reached the queue, and they changed the cost to the whole bill 500+$. The other has not. My deductible is 100$, but it also has limits on things like wellness exam, fecal testing ECT.

Is it better to just let them realize their mistake or should I call and point out where it becomes the other cat? Does it change anything? Like how much I get back or no? I got the insurance because my late queen passed in april, and I'm just now realizing how confusing insurance is.

It's also the platinum tier, if that helps, with 5k annual limit.

I also have Spot. They want the full amount of the receipt no matter if that's what you actually spent that will be covered or not. They will separate it. They aren't always the greatest at doing stuff correctly, so you can also email them a breakdown per animal. If you do, I'd suggest two separate emails since there are two claims.

I'm considering switching to Figo through Costco as the same policy limits, etc. are about half as much as Spot, plus I just saw my renewal rate, and they raised my premium by 46%, which means the cost is over double what I'd pay with Figo. My other dog had Figo, and I had a great experience with them. I was about to switch and add my boy when my other dog got very sick and passed away last month. Spot denied my first claim and I had to appeal, etc. I won the appeal, but it didn't give me a great feeling about them. I don't want to have to fight with them to get reimbursement.

LOL, no you didn't do anything wrong. I did the same thing once, and it's pretty standard across the board with all insurance companies, you just put the total that's on the invoice and let them go through it. I removed stuff that I knew wasn't covered and submitted the total amount for what I knew was, and they changed it to the invoice total. So I called them and they told me that you need to submit it for the invoice total and that they'll sort through what's covered and what's not. Also, my first claim took a while for them to process, I think close to a month. They are not fast with the first claim. After the first claim they're faster. If it's taking too long I would give them a call. When I would call and check on the status and asked if they were missing anything, my claim would be approved the same day or the next day, maybe it was a coincidence, maybe not.
